Rickey Bolden, the seventh of ten children, was raised by a widowed mother in Dallas, TX. Rickey escaped the city's violence through high school athletics, achieving All-American status in football and All-State in basketball. After a decorated collegiate career at SMU, he went on to excel at offensive tackle for the NFL's Cleveland Browns. While training for his seventh year, the lineman literally walked off the field, hearing God's call to ministry. After attending Ashland Seminary, Rickey became pastor of Southeast Christian Fellowship, a tiny church in Washington D.C. Under his leadership of 9 years, it grew to over 400 people per week. During this time, he helped start a youth center called "The House". While living in the nation's capital, he worked with leaders of Congress for 4 years. Rickey joined the staff of NCC in 2005 and now serves as Senior Pastor.
Rickey graduated from SMU and went on to Ashland Seminary where he earned a Master in Divinity and a Doctorate of Ministry. He is an ordained American Baptist Minister. He is married to Glenda and together they have 4 sons and 1 daughter. In his spare time, Rickey loves going to auctions.
