God is on the move among the American Baptist Churches of the Northwest. Churches are transforming, leaders are growing, and we’re planting new churches. The result is that the lost are being found, and the found are growing in their relationship with Jesus Christ.
But I will be the first to say that this work is a challenge. The world around us has shifted dramatically in the last 25 years. What worked in 1985 doesn’t work in 2010. The path that leads to health and mission-focus can be difficult and frustrating. We may find ourselves off balance and disheartened.
This is why we need times of refreshment and encouragement. We need hearts that are fresh, invigorated, full of confidence in God and filled with His power. To be renewed in our hearts for fruitful ministry, this is the overarching purpose of our 2010 Biennial Celebration.
The Biennial Program Committee has put together an amazing lineup that, God willing, will achieve our dream for this gathering: A nationally recognized, inspirational speaker in Efrem Smith; dynamic worship; victory reports, practical workshops, and warm fellowship. And, it all takes place in one of the most exciting churches in our Region, the Summit Church.
I urge you to make your plans now. Bring yourself, your pastor, your church’s leadership team, your staff and your ministry workers. Bring the whole congregation! Let’s celebrate and experience the enlivening presence of the Lord Jesus Christ moving in our midst. I can’t wait to see you in Boise this May!
With a hopeful heart,
Charles Revis, Executive Minister
