at The Summit Church in Boise, ID
(formerly Second Baptist church)
with Efrem Smith
Featured speaker at conferences, conventions, and events for organizations such as National Leadership Summit, National Pastors Convention, Athletes in Action, Campus Crusade for Christ, and Compassion International
The ABC of the Northwest Biennial Celebration offers a special opportunity for the churches of ABC Northwest to celebrate what God is doing in our churches and our life together. Worship, inspiration, training, and warm fellowship will be the focus. We are expecting the Lord to give us fresh hearts for a new time of ministry challenge as we seek Him together. Our keynote speaker, Efrem Smith, will inspires us while providing practical insight for pursuing our vision of “growing healthy, mission-focused churches that multiply disciples.”
The schedule has been compacted for the purpose of making this Biennial a high-energy, high-impact event at a reduced cost. (Good news in this economy, right?) The gathering starts early on Friday morning, May 14 and concludes at noon on Saturday, May 15th. For those arriving in town on Thursday afternoon there will be a complimentary barbecue dinner on Thursday evening followed a prayer service for the Biennial.
Efrem Smith will speak four times at the Biennial. He is a dynamic pastor who understands what churches must do to effectively reach their surrounding community. He will teach, illumine and inspire your heart to be strong for the mission of Jesus Christ. Efrem is the founding pastor of Sanctuary Covenant Church in Minneapolis, MN which was launched in 2003 and now runs over 1,000 in Sunday worship in a rented Junior High School auditorium. They’re successfully serving the needs of a challenging, urban community with many coming to Christ. The church is multi-ethnic in composition and has a strategic connection with the hip-hop youth culture. Efrem has just been nominated to become the superintendent of the Pacific Southwest Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC). He is the author of two books: “Raising-up Young Heroes” and “The Hip Hop Church.”
Efrem is married to Donecia and has two daughters; Jaeda and Mireya. He has received many awards such as the Spiritual Education Award from the Minnesota Governor’s Commission on the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. State Holiday Celebration, a recipient of the 2005 “Revolutions Award” from the Flavor Fest Hip Hop Convention.
